Thanks, He is very meticulous and a PITA to have around at the same time.
Knows his electronics. Guess Me paying for his college in electronics finally paid off, to me at least. Getting some of my money back. he does alright in life and makes a ton of money and likes his job. He's a good kid even though i can call him a kid at 43. lol. Smart too, never been married.and don't seem to want to.lol

He's moving along pulling things I'm not using and getting it down to a manageable size. Won't look as good as yours though J.

I do hear some cursing every now and then.

:D

Are you using a programmable stand-alone engine management system?

I’m just using the OEM ECM and tune…so mine is much easier to wire.

Carry on!

I'm going to use the stock ECM with a Cobbs tuner . Hopefully that will be enough .

My son was able to get all the wires done on mine . Of course we still have to install it and lengthen some wires and shorten some when we get it in the car . Sure hope it runs. Lol

Also found an authorized Cobbs tuner with a dyno in my area that I’m going to bring it to when it’s up and running .

Well I know he did better than I would have done with it . We’ll see .

I want to get the body painted but I might wait till the weather gets a little cooler. . These 90+ degree days with 80-90% humidity , 113 heat index ins’t going to work for me. Paint wise or for me getting out in the hot ass shop.

Here’s the color it going .

Well it looks like I’m going to have to get an aftermarket ECM. Cobbs made it to where you have to run emission stuff and since I don’t have it, it won’t work on my car. I’m checking into them now. Link makes one that uses all the factory wires. On checking with them to make sure it will work with the BCM. anyone need an Cobbs access port?

bruceo98 Wed Aug 13, 2025 10:29 am

Looks like the one from LINK will work with the BCM,but my luck, they are sold out right now. Good thing I'm not in any rush for one.

I did make a cardboard pattern for the rear enclosure. still trying to figure out what I'm going to use for that.

DUNGBTL Thu Aug 14, 2025 8:34 am

Link is very popular right now from what I’ve noticed. Have you looked at HALTECH?

Very nice fab work in the back btw… :D

J.

bruceo98 Thu Aug 14, 2025 10:26 am

Yeah, I looked at Haltech but I didn't see where they made one that the factory wiring harness could be used or to use with the BCM. plus the ones I've seen on their site were 5-7 thousand. VS Link for 2200. They might have one but I didn't see it.

Yeah the rear enclosure pattern is a start. I'm thinking I might make some fake rear seat cushions to make it look like it has rear seats, but then again. I think I have enough work to do just getting the car up and usable. Maybe later on. I can always add them.

At least right now I can start running the wires to see what has to be lengthened and which ones need shortening. then I'll remove the body for paint and still be able to leave most of the wiring attached to the floor pan.

Looks like I might have a half day Saturday to start installing the wiring . Fun fun
