Alright read a few post getting more confused. I want to remove the GRB on my 57 single cab and install a IRS transmitter and trailing arms to get rid of noise and help with highway speeds a bit . Where is a good starting point ?? Is it worth the effort I cans do and build it all just is it a good direction. And want to stay at stock height !! So let’s hear it thank you |

The staying Stock Height is the main problem.
I don't really understand why however... does an Early Bay (the most common method) have it's torsion tube/gearbox mounted lower in the body to compensate for the lack of RGB height??
You would think an early bay IRS setup would bolt right onto a Split and be same ride height as a 'Bay :?
Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 (ELI5) |

Converting to IRS will automatically lower your bus a couple of inches. |

If you want stock height then might be you should investigate going with a Freeway Flier transaxle. We are running a 3.875 R&P with later 1964-67 large nut RGBs, and slightly different 1st thru 3rd gears from stock. Went from 47 MPH @ 3,000 RPM in fourth gear to 58 to 60 MPH depending on if stock diameter or slightly bigger rear tires used. |

Isn’t using thing IRS suspension an option? I usually lower everything so stock height isn’t my forte. But with that being said there are a lot of forest service roads where I live now so I’ll be researching my options for my crusty 13 window. |

As I've mentioned before, after converting to late type 2 IRS I ended up about an inch higher than stock!
Granted, the CV joints are very near to the extreme angle allowed but I did that 16 years ago and it's still holding up strong and nearly 100k miles! 8) |
