I've taken the trafficators/semaphores off the car yesterday (1956), 111 958 021B and they seem to be in good shape, especially when it's considered that they haven't been used for 50+ years, and the last 20 of those at least, the car was kept outside. They were obviously removed 20 years ago to paint them the same non original colour as the car (Original = Black). The lenses seem to be a dark orange colour, much darker than I'm used to.

Does anybody know the spec of the cable going to the light bulb? i.e. Multi strand, copper, cloth covered wire. It also needs the two rubber nipples for the lenses to rest against, but otherwise, things look promising.

Just noticed another thread that talks about dating these, and from the MG both seem to have stamped on them, this equates to 1960. If so, these are obviously not original to the car. Who knows what happened over these many years?

I have the wire and the rubber bumpers for those. Wire is a white waxed cloth insulated tinned copper stranded wire. I buy it in 20 gauge from angela.com I could sent it you a couple pieces in an envelope Martin, I buy a couple hundred feet of it at a time.

111 953 021B semaphores were discontinued Aug 57. 1960 semaphores are 111 953 021 F.

It’s my understanding that the orange lens is correct for early cars and very hard to find in good condition. Those look very decent IMO. You can clean them up with plastic polish but be careful. It took me a long time to find a set of originals.

I can help re; cleaning coils and pistons. I expect there is a ton of crud affecting performance.
