Hello everyone, I'm trying to chase down an issue and it led me to the hazard switch...
I realised after picking up a new one that my bus (US 1970) has a 2/3 year only switch with a 9th pin that receives a connection from the brake switches.
To be specific the hazard switch I have is
SAE QC 67-3124
211953235A
The 54 is in the middle
I assume this is because originally my bus would have had one light for indicators and braking and the brakes needed to interrupt the signal?
Since I have had my entire tail light system replaced, it was later wired for euro spec (I'm in the UK) 2 bulb and I've since replaced with a full LED units do I actually need to keep this 9th pin (54) attached?
EDIT: I have just tested this pulling the 54 terminal from the hazard switch and it does not stop my brake lights working. So this post is now just to confirm I'm not going to cause myself any other issues you can think of? I briefly pulled the 54f too but that stopped the hazards working. |

| If you now have separate brake lights from the signals you don't need the complex switch, if it's all working as is leave it alone. |

I am getting a pulsing to the indicator relay causing it to click repeatedly when the brakes are pushed (not all the time so hard to figure out) so just trying to eliminate the only point I can see where they're connected...which on this is from the brake switch to the hazard switch.
Aware that it may also be a ground issue elsewhere... |

Here's how your bus was wired from the factory - since we don't know what modifications you've made to the electrical system, it would be just speculation for us to say much more:

And here's an example of the Euro style tail light wiring (it's for 72 so the fuse locations will be different)

Thanks a lot both, the euro spec work was done before my ownership so I'm just unpicking what's been done before.
Appreciate the diagrams, thanks! |
