I would like some input on whether or not i should rebuild my engine on my squareback. The only problem is I am linking some oil because i striped a bolt that holds up my oil strainer. There is no other problem with it. The reason I was thinking of rebuilding my engine is because I will be going to school and that is a hour drive. I do not want my car to break down. I don't know how many miles are on the car but i do know that i went back to zero. I have driven the car for 4 years 2 of those years i delivered pizza in my car. It broke down because it over heated about 2 years ago. I would like someones advice on whether or not i should rebuild my engine. :-k Here is a another question are ceramic headers better for my car than the stock ones?

My car has a hard time starting when i drive it for a long time ,and at night time the car squeal. the squealing stops when i drive. My step dad said that my car runs fine. I have not ran a compression test on it but i will. If i do not rebuild it then i will go to school in the same engine that i have. This guy will rebuild my engine for $1500 to $2000.

Its going to be difficult to give you advice unless you can give us a better idea of the condition of engine. Have you checked the compression? Done a leakdown test? How does it run?

If you choose not to rebuild it, what is your other option? Buy an already rebuilt motor?

Also, for exhaust choices, nothing beats a stock exhaust in my opinion.

If you have the time, tools, and money to rebuild your engine yourself, I highly recommend it. If for nothing else, it will educate you about the inner workings of your engine in a way that you can't otherwise get by paying someone else to do it.
