Howdy,
I finally got my Karmann out of storage and will most likely be rebuilding the carb this year. I adjusted the carb a couple years ago with the “listen for rpm drop” method but I should probably do it right this time. Any suggestions for a handheld tach when adjusting the big and little screws? I’m running points and have read those “contactless” handhelds can be iffy. Thank you in advance.

Any good digital timing light will have a tach built in. You are better off using an AFR gauge. You can watch the gauge and see the motor go lean as you adjust the air mixture screws in. That will get to LBI.

When I read hand-held, I thought of this.
