Just thought I could find out here about replacing or repairing the rocker panels both sides behind cargo door and opposite cargo door. Can it be done without affecting the outside paint? Or does it weld to the floor of the van? Or can this be cut and repaired when I do the POR 15 treatment of the other rust.

To do it right you’ll get into the floor and the outer rocker
The inner rocker is two layers, each has a flange that welds to the floor. The lower edge of these welds to the lower edge of the outer rocker. They also weld to the ends of the floor beams and the rear of the front wheel well.
Getting to all of the spotwelds is a PITA with the outer rocker removed, I can’t imagine doing it leaving the outer rocker in place. Anyway, my guess is there is more rust than you see, and the outer rocker needs work too; it’s almost always the case |

So it looks like something you would have to do something with soon, correct, in your opinion. Getting into good bit of body work? |
