After watching for a few weeks, this doesn’t seem to be the place for 80's VW know how. I understand, its the SAMBA not the RABBIT. I have a 71 Beetle too and love this site but where do I go to find a bunch of Rabbit heads??
Are Rabbits just the Ford Escorts of European cars? Wasn’t there a time when Beetles were held in low regard, like the German cockroach of the road?? Wasn’t there a time when you could pick up a beetle in good condition for $500 cause nobody wanted them anymore? Kind of like people who get bunny rabbits at Easter time and then let them go in the yard after having them for a few weeks cause they realized that they required some care. Maybe the Rabbits and Cabriolets are in that phase now. Maybe they are on the verge of becoming popular vintage cars like the Beetle. Maybe not. While I don’t think its time to start stock piling Rabbits in the back yard I do enjoy the 87 Cabriolet I just bought and hope I can find a place where others like me gather to swap info to keep their 80's VWs running right.
I'm feeling philosophical this morning. |

| Yea, Ive noticed that the price for VWs is alot lower on the left coast. But once I add in the price for airfare, gas, and food to fly out and drive one home, I could buy one here for the same price. I really envy the avalability of nice VW campers out there. |
