Starting to clean and check out the engine bay. Pulled the air cleaner and found oil in it. Is this normal? The seems to run good.

NOT normal!
You should have oil... a lot more oil... up to the red line!

Lots to learn about Type 4 cars! They are an interesting hybrid of "old air-cooled" and "modern". I never owned one but am fascinated every time I see one!
Find a local club with one, it will really speed up your learning curve! |
