Hey folks.... time to show you some really nice pics from a car which we (my friend Björn De Groote and me Christian Schlieper) created in two years.

My workshop is located in Wadersloh, germany and our job is repairing daily driver cars from every brand on the one side and restoreing classic volkswagen on the other. One day we get the order to build a "hazard streaker" for a customer and this build up process i want to share with you.

We called this kind of Baja bug in germany "Hazard streaker" and it was build from a rotten basic car with baja parts and a better Body.

So let me show you the first pics... we start with a picture where you can see the old basic car in dark grey and behind it the better red body.

second chapter

after visiting the red body and bottom we see that there was not so much rust in it. As you all know we germans a very We want to build up a high level car so this body goes to our friends from "strahlwerk deluxe" for plastic blasting and epoxi primer.

here´s the result....

What make a it a “hazard streaker” ?

good morning...

"hazard streaker" was a bodykit you could buy in the past from Hamburger Auto Zubehör G. Kühn GmbH. In short: HAZ G. Kühn GmbH

Maybe because of HAZ it goes to hazard....

Baja bugs in germany are very difficult to get streetlegal. Haz was one of the companys which make a kit which was good enough for german TÜV.

anyway...today its very hard to find a kit so we decide to search for a basic car with papers.

Back from Strahlwerk Deluxe we start with body work...

There were a some holes in the "waterbox". The plate was still gut, not much rustholes.

more bodywork...

front end is now changed, outside GFK plastic, inside metal

the back is cut off and the engine hood is nur smaller and fits perfectly to the fenders

here we checked first time how an engine fits with protection bar. 8)
The floor is now unter the body for testing.

After all we closed all trim holes and make the whole body perfect to primer.

In the inside we want to put a smaller inner "sky", i dont know the english word, so we have to cut out all the stripes and everything.

The hoods and fenders are renewed.

At the same time we have so much work with dailydrivers and other cars we build a new bigger workshop, so the next pictures you see the car in a new environment. :D

Primered and ready to paint. We have repaired all the Gfk Fenders and put primer on it. At this point we want to put the whole car together to check that all parts fits perfectly.

That GFK Baja Kit looks really nice, never heard of that brand, most likely not available in the US.

so now the pics after paintjob.... the car looked amazing!

Remember, we build the car some years ago... we are not as fast as I post the pics.

But i want to show what germany do after a reporter visit the states and saw the first baja bugs.

And remember: In germany cars like this with Kits like this getting a street legal license is ultra hard... you have to jump in the bed of the Tüv engineer! 8) :lol:
