Just in case you've been thinking of switching to an ATC blade style fuse box ...
Torque Resto has them on sale this weekend for '73-'74 Things. These are very well made and configured exactly like the originals. The original fuse cover even fits.

| I have one in the Thing and one in the Ghia. The one in the Thing is a little tight with all the wiring back there but I like it. |

Same with my '63 and '69 bugs. It stands taller than the original and I found that the wiring cover can press against it. My workaround was to add piggybacks on the forward (fused side) terminals and bend the piggybacks so the wires cleared the cover when connected to them. |
