I’m converting my squareback to a modern EFI system. I’m nearly done but I’m having a bit of a difficult time deciding where to install the O2 bung.
Where have other people put it before? |

Stock muffler?
Right here:
This gets a good average of all four cylinders, and is upstream enough to not be biased by any outside air getting drawn in.
Clock it at 2 o'clock (above middle) to keep it dry.
It is also easily substituted for a stock resonator with just a couple of bolts/nuts. |

If you're adding one to a header/extractor system, you'll want it at the collector of the header/extractor (where the muffler bolts on) right before the muffler. Again, clock it at about 2 o'clock to keep it dry. |

It is a stock muffler with all the heater boxes. Thanks for the quick replies. |

What are you going to do for the FI's air intake? From my understanding, hot intake air is worse for FI then it is for carbs. |

For now I’m just using the stock intake. I have been designing a new intake manifold in Fusion360 and been 3D printing prototype parts, but for now just using the stock intake to get back on the road. |
