Hi guys, my trike has a petronix flamethrower coil and electronic ignition. I have just rewired all the ancillaries, while I was doing it, I found a wire that had one end connected to the coil, the other didn't connect to anything so I removed it. The trike now won't start, i haven't done anything else with the coil wiring. It has one wire from the ignition to the positive side and 2 wires from the negative side going to the distributor. I'm told that the trigger wire goes to the tachometer, but I don't have one. It also seems odd that 2 negative wires go to the distributor. Someone did look and tried to get it started, so they may have swapped wires around. Thanks in advance for any help. |

A thick black wire comes from the ignition switch to + side of coil.
Red wire from electric distributor wires goes to + coil side. Black goes to - coil side.
The random (-) wire may have gone to a tach or ?.
The reverse lights are also powered by the (+) side of coil.
That's all that would normally be connected to a coil. |
