| Can someone recommend a place that sells replacement color coded wire for the dash/instruments/etc without having to purchase a wiring harness. I just want to keep the wires color coded properly. |

I made a custom wiring harness for my '73.
I had purchased some wire from:
https://lswiring.com/collections/wire?pf_t_color=Gray&pf_t_wire_size=18+AWG
But, truthfully, my preferred method was to stripe my own (base color) wire with a chisel point Sharpie, or a white paint pen. I just held one end of the wire in a vise, and walked along the ~20 feet of wire with a marker zipping along the wire.
If you screw it up, you can clean it off with brake cleaner, and start over.
If you let the wire sit overnight with minimum handling, the stripes are as permanent as necessary.
When I first built the harness, my first step was to make the thing out of cheap string. That way, I could get all of the lengths correct, (in the ballpark) for routing, breakouts, etc. It minimizes mistakes with costly wire.
Good luck, Mondshine |
