View original topic: Turn signal indicators not flashing.

Hello- I've lurked here for years and gained some valuable insights from the knowledgeable members, but finally have a question that I cant seem to find an answer to. I've seen some posts in the forums that come close.
Turn signals and flashers work for my 74 Thing, however the indicators in the speedometer don't work.
From what I can tell and have read there is 12v from fuse 1 (black wire) to the bottom of the speedometer. This powers the oil and alt lights, which come on when the key is turned on. The indicators also have 12v to that socket. They flash when 0v (ground) is applied through the KBL terminal.
I have replaced bulb and socket.
The KBL (K1) terminal of the flasher emits a flashing 12v when turn signal switch is activated.
If I disconnect the blue/red from the KBL (K1) terminal and ground it the bulb lights.
I checked and re checked the wiring connections according to the Type 181 wiring diagram and cant find anything obvious wrong.
Thanks for any help.

Figured it out. After many searches. The wording for the JBugs flasher relay popped up. “If indicator lights do not blink move wire or jump to 49a terminal…”
Did it. They now work. Did not buy the flasher from JBugs, but that was helpful.
Thanks
