83 Vanagon issues update. Pretty big leak before the o2 sensor so I have it unplugged currently. Temp sensor measured within spec. Spark plugs very fouled and running rich. Replaced with 3 pronged ngks.
Had older and regular fuel in it. Now replaced with premium and injector cleaner.
Current issue remaining. Everything at cold start it's still bogging down bad and can't press the peddle down more than an inch before it bogs. After warms up I can shut it off a few minutes and start it up and it'll run great.
If I run at highway speeds when I pull over and stop and go to turn around it'll go back into this bogged down/limp/lean mode. I can shut down a few minutes and start back up and it'll run fine again.
There were a few times cruising around 70km that the temp gauge would blink and rise then fall down within a half block radius.
Current thoughts are ecm, no other vaccum leaks that I can find.
It always idles fine as well.
