I've got a '58 European Beetle, that the electrical works fine, but every once in a while, especially when it's near 100 degrees outside, my passenger side semaphore "grounds" out somehow, and causes my brake & turn signals to not work at all. All the other lights work just fine. BTW, it is painted all black, but the color shouldn't have much to do with it, but it only happens after sitting out in the sun for a while... Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Odie Dunfield |

It sounds like the wire varnish is compromised, copper wire expands in the heat and contacts the frame. Rewinding the coils will solve the problem. |
