This was in a box of early P parts & I don’t know what it fits.
Any idea?
1.25” OD throat
2-3/8 OD top
Thank you

Its early 25hp possibly military but it wasn’t used on early Pre A’s

I found a photo of a kubel engine that has the cap so I’m assuming it’s military

As stated at VW till 53, it´s an old VW part, that was used and found till around 1949. It´s nice, but not that rare and expensive, as there are 2 versions and repros.

Thinking Porsche, with luck, you can find a pic from a early GMUND-engine or early Stuttgart-engines from around 1950, whith just that type of breather. With or without cog-wheel-logo. Eventually they used also some of that parts on early 1100-engines. Imo, it´s not impossible, but I´m not sure for the moment. If you find that kind of pics, or you have 1100 ccm parts, please post them here on samba. Thanks.
Porsche Salzburg had a lot of kdf-spareparts and also Porsche Stuttgart used many VW-parts for early 356, even with VW-logo.
