Hi all -

I called WW to ask about their new rear fenders for 56-59 bugs. They have not measured thickness compared to the original German metal, but have gotten good feedback from those who've received them so far.

Anyone have any experience with these as far as fitment, thickness, etc. I bought Klassic Fab green rear fenders a while back and they are great except they fit like garbage on my 59.

I have no experience with repop rear fenders. Or fronts too.

If I was looking for replacement fenders. I'd be calling Avery's Aircooled, or Always VW and see if they have any serviceable rear fenders.
They'll fit better and have the mounting holes in the correct locations. Plus the metal is thicker than any repop fender and the wheel arch is correct.

The WW rear fenders are manufactured in Germany by Dirk Hortig and 99% accurate to originals in every way. I have a set for my 55 and they are almost spot on. I did have a little bit of trimming that was needed with the mounting holes on the drivers side to get things bolted up. That was the only issue I had with them.

As far as the gauge, they are slightly thicker than the originals (20 gauge). I would not hesitate to use them on any project vs a set of originals that need a ton of work (which most do).
