When coolant temps reach >207° F the engine stutters and dies at high altitude (>7,000 ft. MSL). The problem does not seem to occur at lower elevations. Letting the engine cool off for a few minutes allows re-start and continued driving (until temps raise again). 1985 Westy with Kennedy kit and 1991 EJ22.
Could one or more of the following cause this: MAF, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Pump, Fuel Pump Relay, ECU Barometer....? It seems more likely a part in the engine compartment (where the heat is the greatest) would be the culprit.
Anyone with specific experience related to this issue is welcome to comment.
