Hello Gents,
I am looking to upgrade my Squarebacks stereo setup I currently have a modern head unit mounted under the dash (which I will be replacing with an even more modern unit) I also have the typical two door speakers. I recently salvaged my custom stereo speakers from my truck long story. Needless to say, I have 2 polk 5 1/4 db5250 speakers and tweeters (separate from the speaker) one crossover still need to get a second or a new pair and 2 alpine 5x7 sps-570A. I am thinking of putting the polk speakers in the doors like what was there before. I am trying to figure out where to put the alpines for the rear speakers, to have a clean look that also sounds good. I do not intend to put a sub in the car at all as I really don't think it needs one. So if anyone has any pictures of their builds or ideas or tips I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I built speaker pods for the wheel humps so I didn’t lose any cargo space

Before that I had speakers in upholstered sono tubes that looked like roll pillows, they just sat on the rear seat, and were held in place with some elastic and snaps, that way I could drop them on the floor behind the seat if I needed to fold the seat down

I've always thought that set up was pretty slick, and if I ever get another Square again that I'd do something like that. I've had box speakers behind the rear seat before, but they would slide around too, and need to be moved when using the load floor. I always worried about getting hit by them being loose back there.

I’m sure there is a thread somewhere on this already
But, it is simply tape off the inside of the car, you are applying epoxy on top, no gaps. PVA would have been good too but this was my first attempt at laying up,epoxy

Epoxy and fibreglass for the wall shape

Wood top and bottom, fill in with styrofoam blocks and shape it however you like

Cover with fiberglass/epoxy layers

I covered mine with vinyl, and made a grill for the top, it attaches with magnets.
