			| I made a libby bong with a large funnel and a piece of 1 1/2" coolant hose that fit the plastic pressure tank. Recently installed a RMW tank. I put a piece of 11/4" hose inside the 11/2" hose that fits into the RMW tank. |  |

			| So thanks for the tips. I scored the coolant fill kit you all mentioned, sawed off the old screw top on the plastic reservoir and one end of an extra shopvac attachment. I glued them together and it can be used for both draining and filling.

 It seems to me that this would work as well as a Libby Bong maybe just needing raising the rear a little or DIY extending the funnel  so it's near or above the rad bleed.

			| For all of you who contributed to my better understanding of the various ways to drain and refill coolant, I thank you.  I had some angst as I thought about taking on this job for the first time. 
 When the local VW shop indicated their process to change the coolant was simply to remove a couple of pipes (not a flush) at a cost of $250 I decided it was worth trying myself.
 
 While my process is not perfect, it felt good to get at least 1/2 the coolant changed.
 
 Steps:
 1.	Used the shop vac to suck out coolant.  Only got 2 gallons but will
 repeat the process more regularly.
 2.	Spent less than $7 to source connectors to fashion my portable air tank
 (pics below) to pressurize the system as would be done with GoWesty’s
 tool.
 3.	Drove my Westy for 30 minutes, bled a little air remaining in the system
 and all seems good.  I’ll drive it one more time to ensure I’ve gotten all
 the air out.
 
 Many thanks once again for all the great input on the forum.
