Such a Rad Kar!!! The Netherlands…. To Kool.

So happy you’re still enjoying it. Such an original example.

I just picked up another $500 66 yesterday morning with the wife. Lots of original equipment still on it. They are still out there.

^^^YeSir…. They are still here My Brother…..^^^

Someone spray canned the outside of this one but other then that there is a lot of original paint left. The blue on the outside is practically falling off , I bet you could remove it easily. I wound not be surprised if this was the original motor and transmission…. Here are some pix from yesterday swooping it up and getting it home.

Ok folks. Nothing to report on the Standard this weekend. I did use a couple parts that I had for it tho to fix my 59 MF Tractor. Haha. It broke down on me from sucking rust in the new carb I put on. I discovered I could modify this vw screen to fit the og glass bowl filter. I also used the all so popular in line filter to make sure nothing else gets in the carb. Owning property and keep up on the equipment takes up a lot of time but it’s very rewarding. Once it was fixed and back running again it was time to move logs and brush to do a burn pile. We got to see the Space Train go by.

A little bit of forward movement.

I got the drums and backing plates all cleaned and painted and all the hardware ready to rock.

I have been looking online for braided breather hose that I like but only came up with a bunch of plain rubber hose. I was digging around in the shop looking for for something and found this new section I must have purchased a while back. I was stoked. This is exactly what I wanted to use.

Another sweet step was after looking up how expensive 6 v starters are these days I asked around to some friends and came up with two good options to test. Hopefully one does the trick.

So the backing plates had to be clearanced because of the chrome plating on the axle tube. I didn’t want to do to much so I got them to a point that I used the axle cap to such them into place. They are all good to go. Also dug out some old gauge stuff I had.

Final got around to grabbing the seats out of the Deluxe. Looks fantastic for being so many decades old.

I’m stoked on how nice the Original upholstery is in. Hopefully it holds up well with all the new action it’s going to get.

I discovered a super easy and fun way to pack bearings. The gearing on the drill press handle make it effortless.

Tech  Tip

So it is very important to add grease on the grease seal where it rides on the spindle. Rubber these days need all the help they can get. This is especially important on a flywheel seal. The motor will have multiple rotations before the oil finds its way onto the new seal, causing premature or even sometimes instant failure. 8)
