I'll be driving South for this. Can't wait! I was thinking about cancelling, but then thought that the area needs tourist cash, cancelling wouldn't do any good.

I'll be staying in Indian Rocks Beach, which was hit hard. The condo owner said to definitely come, the whole area is recovering quickly. She also suggested tipping well, the restaurants were very severely damaged, as most are on slab level. Most restaurants are just now opening, and the cooks and wait staff have been out of work for two or three weeks. I know that Crabby Bill's in IRB is opening today for the first time since evacuating ahead of Helene.

JP, that is a great post and reminder of how we should all help support the people who have been affected by these devastating storms.

we will be there Wednesday. Lets try and get together and grab some grub

We had booked a site at Fort Desoto. they refunded my payment so we are staying at the La Quinta.

Looking forward to seeing everyone

JP this was a really nice thing to say and as a local to IRB my whole life this is felt and heard.
I’m constantly reminded how lucky I was daily as customers come into my business daily and told how they have lost everything. This is a dense county with a very large community on the barrier island that from Ft Desoto / Tierra Verde / Pass a grille all the way to the north end of Clearwater beach , the entire barrier island got ROCKED and so did Tampa bay.
Words don’t describe how unbelievably bad it is and that is no reason to not come to the area and catch a meal and relax. It’s still Florida and it’s still the best east coast BUS only gathering and longest running event there is. Most won’t even see the mess. There was a time when the enthusiasm was great and everyone came here posted and built the steam along with myself and would get hyped for the hangs and shenanigans…let’s all try and put this mess along with the stupid politics behind us , shake a hand and share our ridiculous enjoyment for these cars and try and enjoy ourselves. Shops open Friday around 4. Come by, say hello .

Drive safe everyone. Good to have the show back at this location. Highly recommend a visit to the Orange County Choppers Roadhouse before or after the show. Just across the street.

Broke down in North Carolina and had to ditch the '60 swivelseat. But I traded that to become a passenger in a '59 SO23, so its not all bad. Rolled into town yesterday afternoon. See you at Todd's tonight!

Okay I’ll say it. I was expecting to see more buses at the show. Not sure what happened because Bug Jam was busier than I’ve ever seen it. And there were a lot of pre-67 buses at bug jam that were not at Bulli. A couple of folks that I spoke to mentioned that folks like to get a spot at bug jam and stay put for the weekend versus bulli that’s a morning/ early afternoon show. It’s also tough to compete with bug jam given its size and weekend coverage.

I went to bulli on Saturday and Bug Jam on Sunday. Took my bus to both. Ideally the events would held on different weekends. Or bulli would be a Friday afternoon/ evening show before bug jam which no doubt dominates sat and sun.

Either way agree with the earlier poster. Kudos to the folks that put these shows on for the VW community. There is no doubt a ton of behind the scenes work and it’s massively appreciated.

Or go back to the way it was and Bug Jam was just Sunday..... Being from farther away the whole weekend of stuff makes the trip worth it. Make it 2 weekend deal then you prevent people from far away to go to both and still have a "normal" life.
