I guess they welded this large piece in position very early during the production process, before the sidepanels were fitted. |

No pictures of the parcel tray welded in the car for your morning coffee, sorry.
I had to fix some problems on the sidewall before, i need to think about how to do that.
So i cut out the cargo door (terrible bent if you look to
the nos pilar next to it) and start to build my first handmade lower door repair panel after i need the same time to make the repro fit on my sparsamba.
For this i make a template from my nos pilars to have a idea how the bending must fit!
I looked under the paint for the old signwriting to see where i can do the cut without destroying the letters.
Some are missing, any ideas???

does it perhaps say Lebensmittel und Tabak oder Tabakwaren?
that was a common thing back in the day. |

Hauptstraße 38 was a grocery store named Jilek, don't know if it still existed in the 1950s.

no, unfortunately you hit a different district. 14th is nearly on the opposite side of Vienna. There is probably a 'Hauptstraße' ( main st.) in each district.
We are talking about 3rd. ( Wien 3), which is the Landstraßer Hauptstraße. |

I searched 3 Hours today in different online books and found no Franz who owns a Lebenslittel- company in the 3rd district of vienna Landstrasser Hauptstraße =(
Today my buddy Erich bing me some nice nos doors as template to repair the ones on the 52.
The shape of the lower door varies in +/- 5mm from sill to the lower area... crazy!
I don't know what profile i should use, B-pilar, C-pilar or doors, everything different...
Put the door completely apart, found some funny little spings that hold the rods, never seen that shit before, crazy early stuff!!

Trying to help, to find the original location.
I´v found some tabak (tobaco) shops at Landstrasse Hauptstrasse 1 b, 29, 47-49, 68-70, 99-101, 139,
https://www.herold.at/gelbe-seiten/wien--3-landstrasse/tabaktrafik/
https://www.herold.at/gelbe-seiten/wien--3-landstrasse/lebensmittel-einzelhandel/
Hauptstrasse 26, 32, 58, 71, 111, 146, 153-155, 167,
Hope that helps...
It seems, the "Naschmarkt" is everywhere in Wien. If you are not only hungry, go there!

Maybe you could try to find a reasonable reference with the NOS parts and the doors of your friend? Since everything around the cargodoors of your bus is bend and out of shape, it's seems wise to ignore that. The cargodoor area on your 'Deutsche Bundespost' Barndoor doesn't look much better.
I'm not sure about how much different the shape of the doors and the pillars of your 'Sparsamba' are, but possibly they could provide some insights and references as well? Maybe Sgellis or someone else could help you out, and provide you some measurements from other busses. |

All the busses vary. My 64 has a slightly different profile from side to side and even front to back. I made a full height pattern off my 64 that is sort of an average of both sides and I will build my 54 off that pattern.
I made a drawing of the profile but needs updating to match my pattern. Will likely get to that next week. I would suggest making a pattern off a good split window at the B pillars as they are the most ridged section. Adjust it until it fits as good as possible side to side. |

afaik the beltline shape/cross section is different on older vs newer buses. at least at the front doors and at the b pillar. |

I have not notice a difference but have not really checked and may be missing something. Newer doors are often used on BD so I can not see where they could be different. Very interested if there is more to this. |
