As for folding top compatibility advice.

For the 58-64 bodies the tops can be broken down into two categories
1958-1960
and
1961-1964

However.. certain parts of the 58-64 year ranges can be combined to be able to work together.

Options for using a 1961-64 top on a 1958-60 body.

Quote: A 61-64 convertible top frame can be used on a 58-60 convertible body.
Use the 1958-60 top latches and reciever catches
1958-60 header wood
1958-60 rear body wood
1961-64 wood for remainder of top frame,
Use the 1958-62 rear window.
Most importantly a 58-60 top fabric cover wont fit the 1961-64 frame, you must use a top cover meant for the 1961-64 frame.

I learned this the hard way about 58 years ago. I had a '58 'vert and acquired a slightly used tan canvas top cover, pad, headliner, and back-glass from a wrecked car. Not knowing any better, I spent many evenings removing the original top cover, etc, and what seemed like a million little tacks. Then I installed the "new" headliner, pad, top cover and back glass. Boy, did it look great to my 22 year old eyes !
Then I decided it was time to put the top down and show my bride how clever I was, but------RIP. The "new" back glass didn't play well with the old frame.
(the rest of the story: I took the engine, trans, etc. out of the 'vert and put it
in a $50 Sedan from the junk yard and scrapped the '58 convertible)
