Reviewed the 1956 parts book on The Samba archives focusing on the door construction and went thru the parts I had bagged and tagged. Checking to see if there was anything missed.
Ordered the remaining door rubber and c-channel felts......
Decided to give the ground wire and battery positive cable a Brasso rinse to clean up some corrosion. Removing blue paint from battery cover strap.
Installed new German axle boots prior to trip for body work as old boots were cracked. Will be cleaning up transaxle at some point and want to keep any grit from getting inside. Looking forward to September and hopefully seeing this off for body work. |

After many test fits of the front hood latch after lubrication of same. It was bolted on and the front hood now opens and closes like new! Initial hood to body gap looking good.

Picking up some pieces on a road trip...... waterfall pump, light and turn signal, reconditioned rods, and WW camshaft.
