Put a Bocar unit on. You won't find a better new carburetor.

For $14 more he can have his original German Solex rebuilt to better than new.

That would be a good idea. I was suggesting a second carburetor for the spare he asked for. A rebuilt one is $409.

While $375 is cheaper than $389, I "think" he was looking for a cheap option so he can drive the car.

Here's one for $57... no guarantee it''s any good.

I was looking at the no-core column on the far left. It's $409 for a Bocar.

Those China ones will work temporarily but they are hard to get to run right. They will last a little while.

I've put the Bocar ones I have in stock on two of my cars. They are wonderful. I think I learned my lesson not to sell all my good Bocar units. Otherwise, I won't have a good carburetor on my car. It makes such a difference.

Tim's rebuilt, original German Solex carbs are better than new. I recommend Tim to all my customers and they are absolutely thrilled with his work and how much better their VW runs with the original, rebuilt to new German carb installed.
All my VW's run their original German made carbs, distributors and fuel pumps. They run just like those smart German engineers designed them too.

Is that how Tim is representing his products publicly now as Better than New? Can you point me to it? That's really something.

I'm not here to defend Tim... he doesn't need it.

But when a "item" is correctly rebuilt, in single batches by an individual person, greater care is taken to ensure the parts all measure up, are assembled correctly and it's the perfect time to upgrade some parts such as bushings and seals.

I've seen Tim's work, that is why I recommend him.

I've seen the work of "other" so called rebuilders and that's why I don't recommend them.

I only recommend vendors I would and have used for myself and my customers.

To advertise products as better than new would create a huge liability and risk. While Tim does a good job a label as Better than New which the two of you just used is a tall order.

My words... not his.

Go ahead and sue me ;)

Still doesn't change the fact that Tim's rebuilds are well worth the cost... compared to the cheap aftermarket ones and even a NOS one.

NOS doesn't mean NEW, it means it was never installed. Parts age just sitting on a shelf. The rust from moisture in the air and rubber parts dry out and crack. We've both seen our share of NOS vacuum canisters that have ruptured diaphragms.

I would never us NOS wheels cylinders without taking them apart and going through them.

Cheap aftermarket ones aren't very good. That's why I was happy to have found the Bocar ones. It's nice when you can have a carburetor that just works. I can understand how you can be happy with Tim's work.

I bought a large stock of canisters from Mexico that were stored very well. I've been through about 1/3 of them and zero failures. DVDA ones seem to fail more but on the retard side.

I guess if I paid what you paid for them, i'd give one a try. But for what you're selling them for, i'd just pay the $14 more and go with Tim since it's OG German, for my German car.

yea, they are better than new because he 100% re-bushes the throttle shaft...which the originals simply used the fucking castings

I have used Tim's carbs for years. He's the real deal and worth every penny

What's not worth every penny is that overpriced one in the classifieds. I have one for you if you want, just message me. 175 and it's yours

Not sure how enforceable one would be.

No, but if what I hear is true about other sellers forcing people to comply with such b/s, I wouldn't do business with them and tell them to eat a bag of

I mean could you imagine being so insecure you are forcing customers to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement? I mean, what are you hiding from?

Who does that? I've never seen any VW people doing this.

What's common is people creating an LLC for selling carburetors and fuel pumps. Some customers of that LLC might not know about the LLC unless they really look for it. Even then they might not understand the ramifications of it which is there to limit any liability of the person who created the LLC. As example, it's basically saying that if a device the LLC creates malfunctions and causes a fire and burns down your vehicle you can not hold the owner of the LLC responsible. Much more serious than the NDA you describe above in your comments.

Hey Marcel. Can I just buy a part and move on. And share my experience on the Buyer/Seller feedback forum? You got the goods but man, if i had restrictions on sharing my experience or freedom of speech, I’m out. By the way, I’ve sought out alternative sources for parts because some folks (Not on the Samba) said they had to agree to terms I’m not comfortable with. Maybe what they said was bullshit.

Can I just buy a part from you and get it. Just like any other part I buy from various online vendors and brick and mortar retailers?
