Save the weekend of July 11-13. We are still working on the details but I wanted to get the dates posted for people's planning purposes. This year's Treffen will be held in the Athens GA area.

I'll post more details as we get plans firmed up. 8)

2025 Kubel Treffen East to be held in Athens GA. July 11-13

Host hotel and event site is Hotel Abacus. It is downtown Athens with many shops, restaurants, and bars in easy walking distance. https://www.hotelabacusathens.com/

Made the reservation for the show.
FYI if you are intending on coming early or staying after the show, the room rate will not apply. I was able to get their "best" available rate of $125 for Thursday night. Otherwise the room rate would be around $225.

I hope you get everything sorted. If you don't, bring it anyway. I have trailered my Thing to a Kubel Treffen even though it wasn't finished.

As far as the group rate, they didn't give me a cut-off date. It's probably early July.

Off the record you could always book a room now and cancel if you can't make it. ( but you didn't hear that from me ) 8)

I have a couple of Things to finalize and then I will post registration info.

In the meantime, here's some more info:
Friday afternoon we will have a local VW club member and Thing owner lead a cruise around downtown Athens and the UGA campus. With any luck we will be able to park on the bridge at the end of Sanford Stadium and you will be able to get out and see where the Bulldawgs play.

Saturday the show will be in the parking lot right outside of your room. We will have the show and awards and then you will have some time to socialize, rest, or check out downtown Athens. Dinner will be at the restaurant at the same location as the hotel. Unlike previous years there will be no prepaying for dinner. You can order what you want and pay for what you eat and drink.

I'm still working on a Sunday morning cruise. Plan on one, I just have to iron out the details.
