I found these big, white sharpies on amazon, the paint in them is oil based and seems durable. Easy to apply and will take a couple of coats but the finished product is well worth it. I did some tires that have raised letters but were black, cleaned em with carb cleaner and did them. They look great. The taller the letters the easier it is. I found that if you keep some q tips and carb cleaner handy you can clean up any edges. You can also let it dry then use a small flat screwdriver to scrape it away.
