72 Super
It is time for new carpet. The green carpet came out of the Bug.
The black carpet is in My MGB-GT.
Is the green loop and is the black synthetic?
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Thanks and good day,

The black (gray?) is loop, the green looks more like cut pile from here.
As for synthetic or wool burn a small sample, wool smells like singed eyebrow, synthetic melts and smells like plastic. |

busdaddy, I prefer the tightness, less furry as in the black carpet.
I have carpet sets in the cart at Jbugs - loop and Wolfsburg West - synthetic.
Anybody else confirm synthetic/loop?

WW sells the wool square weave ... but it'll cost ya!
Here is what it looks like compared to the original square weave (from the gallery):
I ended up going with their synthetic because of cost. For me, the appearance of the synthetic was close enough. Purists are more willing to spring for the wool.

You still aren't quite getting it, loop carpet can be made from wool or synthetic, and so can pile.
I think what you want is a loop carpet, now you have to decide if you want the spendy wool or the cheaper synthetic fiber. Both lay there on the floor the same way, wool smells different and appeals to purists, some claim it wears better too, but the downside is it's harder to clean. Synthetic stands up to normal wear, cleans easily, looks good and costs way less, what's your end goal here? |

My mission is to have a clean, well running almost daily driver.
I do not like the green carpet look as it is just too furry.
I am partial to OldSchoolsVW's carpet and will order the Snythetic Loop from WW in Charcoal.
Thanks for the replies and "I have Friday on my Mind"

Call WW and request samples of the color and type you're interested in to confirm that that's the way you want to go. They don't charge for them and they are usually around 2" x 3" pieces ... definitely a bigger and more useful representation of the carpet than the postage stamp size samples most other vendors will provide.
Here's how that carpet looks in the front:
