The first step to fitting custom wheels is knowing what you have and/or what is stock (because we know that will fit). To that end I stopped by this forum today looking for a good list of available stock wheels. I’m mostly type 1, but info for other models would be good too. Sometimes stock wheels from another VW might even be the custom wheels on your ride. (I’m running 14 inch Bus wheels on the front of my buggy, they narrow the front track.

Is there somewhere on theSamba that I can find a list of stock wheels by bolt pattern, width, and offset —OR by bolt pattern width and ET? Some quick searches have left me hanging!

The first links seems a little suspect on some of the wheel information. I know that Bugs with 15 inch 5 on 205mm wheels are 4 inches wide, ET33mm. That is approximately 3.8 inch backspace. The 4.5 and 5.5 inch wide 5 Bug wheels are aftermarket (or Porsche).

That second link was the one I was looking for, thank you. I think it would be useful if all the information was collected in one place and made a sticky in the wheel section. After all, knowing the starting point is useful information before you start making changes.
