Hello everyone!
I've been working on restoring a sand rail after it was in a fire and I've run into an issue that I can't diagnose. Lots of noises coming from behind me when driving.
I've done a lot of work to this rail recently, but it wasn't drivable before the work so I don't have a reference point to know if any of the new parts are causing the issue. I've replaced all of the engine tins, fan/shroud/hardware, CVs, rotors/calipers, shocks, ball joints, distributor, plugs, wires, carbs, and probably some things I can't remember at the moment.
I recorded the sounds and made a video with subtitles at this link:

If anyone has any insights, I am all ears.
Thanks in advance to anyone that spends any amount of time looking at this post. I appreciate all of your knowledge and experience. |

Howdy ... & welcome
Maybe CV joints.
Overdue for valve adjustment also.
Possible exhaust leak as well.
Welcome to the madness ... stay safe

PS :
Cool forum handle, made me chuckle ! |

Hard to say with so many various sounds, but I am hearing what might be the cooling fan scraping inside fanshroud?
While at idle (with parking brake set) grab hold of fanshroud top, then push & pull, to see if any change in sound. |

| It seems like you have something creating a harmonic whether that be a CV or bearing that needs attention and it's making everything shake and rattle. The lower frequency rattle sounds like the culprit and I would start by checking the cvs. Make sure ther are clocked correctly and all the cv parts are fitting together right. Google a video on how to do this if you need to. |

| I don't think it's the engine. Can't be sure but that's not screaming out at me for some reason. |

| I've also heard something similar when there was a tire issue. |

| Yeah, I've sometimes wondered if my car was a type of Christine, with as much of my blood as she's bled me for. |

| Yes, I am hearing some kind of drive train noise. That clicking on start up might be a bad wheel bearing or a CV joint. Later on, it sounds like the fan is dragging on the housing. |

The loudest sound of the "clicking/clacking", in my opinion is definitely part of the drive train after the engine. Say like differential or cv joints.
If you let the transaxle slow the vehicle instead of the brakes, how does it change the tone of the sound. Does it quiet or get louder? |
