I recently had a problem with my left door not opening on my 56 Oval.
I have new door locks and outer handles.
I found that the knub (for want of a better word) in the internal lock wasn't retracting fully when I used both the inner or outer handle.
There is adjustment on the inner handle mechanism, moving this forward gave me more of a pull and the knub was fully retracting.
On the outer handle I glued a shortened metal tyre valve cap over plunger in the internal door lock giving the plunger more travel.
