as to the 5 long, 1 short (medium) latches, it shows that in VW literature in multiple places.

the two wide opening popouts on the passenger side get cracked sometimes because people open the rear cargo door with the windows wide open. Personally, I prefer long popouts on the driver's side and short popouts all along the passenger side.

There does seem to be a number of inconsistencies with this. As I have found out, it would make sense to have medium or short spoons on cargo doors, to save breakages when doors open. But on my bus, which had factory fitted pop outs, the medium spoons only fit the rear two windows, due to the fixing plate being able to slide back and forwards.

I would suspect either the latch/frame/hinge may be a bit tweaked, or interference of the aftermarket seals.

Thanks, but everything is original, it was supplied with 6 pop-outs. The thing that no one seems to know about is that there is a difference in the dimensions of some pop out catches. I have original long spoons and original medium spoons and they are 8mm difference, which means that you need holes (the three on the bus window aperture) that are 8mm different depending on which catch you use. Due to the holes being on a sliding plate on the rear two pop outs, you can fit either. I have fitted the medium spoons to the rear, they are the ones that open when driving for those in the rear seats, and don't cause as much drag as the long spoons. Also, if you open the rear side cargo door with a medium spoon open in the furthest window (on 11 window) on the cargo door side, the cargo door can open fully (as long as the cargo door window isn't open too).

I would still like to see pictures of buses with long, medium and short spoons fitted, also pictures of 58, 59, 60 busses' pop out mounts before any internal upholstering.

Pictures of pop out catches compared, a bit more of a selection may be useful.
