Im replacing my outriggers and cross brace soon and part of my heat tube is roached out, Im not running heat, so either way I have to cut the tube and I'll need to clean up and remove that fiberglass looking fabric, what's in that stuff? Does it contain asbestos? I'll be wear full covers and a mask for sure, but want to be extra cautious.

Consensus is that the only asbestos was:

(1) sealing collars where the accordions meet the HE and body:

(2) The little flat pieces sealing the heat riser tubes to the rear tin:

Awesome! Thanks. I don't think that collar will be on a 61' bus? Either way I'll rip off the itchy fiberglass first. Fully suited up of course! Then see if there are any of those collars on the metal tubes.

Early brake shoes definitely had asbestos in them. Most are all long since replaced, but still good practice to wear protection when doing brakes and keep them wet if there is a lot of dust present.

Yeah no old brakes here. I do remember reading that old pads used it. Nasty stuff.

just spray it with soapy water and keep damp double bag it in plastic bags and put it in the garbage, It is the dust that is dangerous long term exposure. don't over think it.

Yep, brake shoes and pads definitely had asbestos! I was just looking at heater system components.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was asbestos insulation in some electrical components, but I've not seen confirmation.

Thanks guys! Safety is crazy important, spraying with soapy water is a great idea, I also read wetting the area and garage or driveway, but spray bottle with some dawn sounds easy enough, and a mask.

Asbestos like PCB's and many others are way overblown.
Yes asbestos is dangerous over long term exposure, and a dust storm like the trade centers with out proper face mask and PPE, no a N95 will not work no way to get a proper seal, just use caution but don't go overboard and you will be ok.
