I now have a road-worthy Westy, thanks in large part to you fine folks here on thesamba, and I want to take this opportunity to say thanks.
I bought the van last fall after it had been sitting for 20 years. It’s been a looong road getting to this point, with some setbacks, some victories and a whole lot of newly acquired knowledge and skills.
I still have a punch list a mile long(and growing), but I had my first camp outing last week and another planned for this weekend. Feeling really good right now(knock on wood and a genuflection in the direction of the Vanagon spirits).
If any of you will be at West River Westies in Vermont next weekend I’d love to meet up!

| Congrats! When we got ours we did a three-day weekend over Labor Day 2006 and the net weekend left on an already scheduled trip to the Thousand Islands. Lots of good memories thereafter. |
