Hello Folks,
I lifted my 73 thing via spindles and re-indexing the rear torsions. It looks level and I’m happy with its stance. I bolted my axles in. Standing back and looking at them, the cvs look stressed. If I ran them as is my guess is they will fail. I am planning on buying 930s. Am I safe with the stock axle length of 16&1/8” when ordering new axles? Thanks for reading and any input is appreciated. |

Hello Sir,
Agreed. It is lifted 3” and not on the stops. I have my factory axles. They look too articulated to me. |

Jack up the rear till the wheels are off the ground and on the stops then grab the axle shaft if it slides back n forth even just a little your ok. Buy a digital angle finder they are $20, 17 deg's they say is max. |

He didnt ask if his stock axles and cv’s were ok to run, he asked about length of the axles. Quit thinking about monkey butthole and pay attention.
OP , only way for you to know for sure what axle length to order is for you to pull an axle(s) and measure. Measure at full droop and when the axle would run parallel. Dont puss out and just try to guess or hope someone will give you the answer , those 930 cv’s arent cheap and you dont want to go through all that just to get the wrong axle at the least, and risk tearing up / breaking your shit you just spent all that time and money on |
