does anyone know the dia. of the back and bottom seats frames for a 63 beetle. Ive looked on this site everywhere and I still cant find the answer. my bottom is 19" approx from the back to the front of the top. I think I have the wrong back as when I try to bolt in in place its takes like 3 guys to force everything together and I know that cant be right. anyone have photos of top and back frame you could share? |

I don't know if you want pics of a bare frame or not, but this is my 63. Hope it helps. |

I have an original '63. The top of the bench portion of the rear seat is 19 inches, not 17 3/4. It has two support bars on the bottom. Old thread, but it may help someone else down the road.

Thanks everyone, the photos of the back seat help as well as confirmation of the seat dia at 19" seems like my bottom is correct. Just not sure of the back dia. |

I Had a similar issue, after adding new padding, I could not get the seat bottom in to save my life. I ended up adding a piece of aluminum flat stock with holes to the back where they bolt into the body. This extended the seat back up high enough to slide the bottom into place. Once the bottom is in you cannot see the "aluminum extensions". Still even after they were added the seat back wanted to come forward. After some time and my kids sitting in there it worked itself into place. |
