I searched and didn't see this issue covered here, yet.
My EV is at cold start up. When I depress the brake pedal, I can hear the shift lock solenoid disengaging and engaging when I release the brake pedal.
This is a new sound I've never detected until this week.
Is there some serviceable way to quiet the shift lock solenoid?
I've looked at the diagrams on the Charm website and it's not really clear on how to disassemble the shift lever mechanism to access the solenoid.

In particular, I'm trying to figure out how to remove the shift lever selector cover.
Are the fasteners under the van? Or are they accessible from inside the cabin? |

- The grip handle has a hex bolt you loosen, then you can slide the grip handle up and off the top of the shaft.
- Slide the triangular plastic shroud up and off of the gear selector shaft.
- Use a thin screwdriver to separate the upper portion of the gear selector cover, and lift it off of the shaft. It will come apart if you wedge the screwdriver in between and work your way around the seam - it just clips into the lower base basically so you're separating it just like any other "trim"
- remove the black plastic slider stirip (noting which end is longest)
Once the top part of the cover is off, you'll be left with the plastic base (i.e. console), which has 3 screws to remove.
- When you're ready to remove the base over the shaft, remember that there's a small lightbulb that needs to be removed from it's holder (quarter turn will do it)
That should give you the access you're looking for; if you were trying to go further than that, then my apologies for misunderstanding. |

Perfect explanation Kourt. Thank you once again for your valuable help.
I'll give it a go once the flaming heat calms down outside. |
