Hello everybody!
I'm looking for some informations about the Superior Turtleback wheels.
I've got one in 4,5x15 but does they exist in another size (6x15,...)?
Thanks for the answers! |

I remember these wheels as a kid.
They where a dealer installed option.
Bob Hoy VW was closing them out in '77 for $35 each in the back of Hot VW's.
I think they only came in 4.5 x 15" either silver or black.
I bought a set of 4.5 x 15 EMPI sprint stars for $200 instead.
I can't believe I let the sprint stars go with my Square.
A real bad double mistake. |

And no, they shouldn't reproduce them. They were ugly then, they are ugly now. We don't need more ugly in this world.
Alright, explain the hardware to me, looks like what, 14mm long reach, but with washers?
I posted this in the type 3 forum, but didn't receive any answers, can anyone explain this mounting hardware for the Superior Turtlebacks? |

What specifically is your question? Yes, those appear to be the lug bolts with washers that come supplied with the wheels. The wheels' attachment holes are flat bottomed, not dished. The rest of the hardware is clips and I think a sort of "speed nut" to attach the clips to the center caps, which then are sort of "popped in" to the wheel, from the outside face. |

Okay, is there anyone repoping this set up? Or, can one use regular ass 14mm and a set of washers? Can someone running these rims tell me exactly what hardware they are using? |

mine aren't mounted yet (I am still finishing them) but I will be running a standard lug conversion with long nuts & washers...
I finally found some caps that will work on eBay, since the OG caps are far and few between... |

Standard lug coversion, you mean studs and acorn lugs? Gotta picture or link, I've not seen any 'flat bottom' lugs |
