Hi all, new here, hoping someone can help. looking for any ideas for a seat for my buggy. I would like to stick to the bench style most of these had or is there any vehicle someone has pulled one from and used it in this style of buggy.

Looking at the one picture you have uploaded to theSamba what you have is not a Berry Plastiglass Mini-T. It is likely a Action Fiberglass T Buggy. The Action version has a windshield with a flat bottom, the Berry version is curved.

The Berry T buggies did have a fiberglass seat base and I suspect the Action T buggy did too. They are quite rare and I have not been able to find one for sale. As near as I can tell, the 4 seat version of the T buggy used the same seat base for the rear seat. I don't know if the Berry version of these would fit an Action T (or the other way around). I've also got my eye out for a soft top frame, but have not found one for sale.

Thankyou , I did not know that, It's been many years since I've played around with dune buggies, this was a family members' now mine and I am in the process of restoring.

I have bucket seats in mine. Looking over all the photos I've posted on theSamba there is not one good picture of the seats. That's likely because the cheap fiberglass bucket seats are not one of the better points, but they are functional. Here is the best installed picture of the seats I've posted. It was actually about how I attached a rear view mirror (and to this day I've never been hassled about lacking a side mounted rear view mirror).

I have the fiberglass seat base for my T with snap in interior. I'll shot a photo and post it later today. Quite frankly, it's a piece of crap and I'm going to make a new base out of wood. I'm also going to remake the windshield frame with straight sides to lose the cartoon look

I decided to embrace the cartoon look. The Mini-T design is not a very practical buggy, the same size as a Manx style buggy but a whole lot less room inside. It is important to make sure you can sit in it with reasonable comfort as you set up your seating. You sit so far back that it's hard to get the seat down low enough and not put the steering wheel on your knees.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Action T seat base. I'm wondering how similar it is to a Mini-T seat base. I have a couple photos of the Berry one.

I'm not sure if I want to put a wood bench seat using the metal frame and glassing in some supports or going with buckets.

Oh wow, that one looks wimpier than the Berry version. The shape is the same but the Berry one is all fiberglass, no metal frame, and looks similar in thickness to the body.

I have bucket seats. I also have an 8-1/2 inch steering wheel. There would be more room with a bench and my back against the fiberglass body with just a thin layer of upholstery.

Wow you guys weren't kidding about how poorly those original seat bases are for the T 's. I think I am going to have to come up with my own design to stay with a 1 piece bench. Thanks for posting those pics.

Here are some picture of the original Berry Mini-T fiberglass seat base from Joescoolcustoms:

Put a new 3/4" plywood seat base in my Mini-T. Used the steel legs from the original base. The snap in seat covers are in excellent shape, but need a color change

I have a suggestion, make sure you can sit in that seat with the steering column and wheel in place. These buggies were styled more for looks than practicality and can be a bit cramped for the driver.
