A pretty big turnout for VW night, as well as several hundred Detroit rods. Saw my second barndoor ever. Waaay cooler than the restored one I saw at a car auction. Actually driven!
Sorry for the bus focus. I like buses.
Edit - just noticed my truck can just be seen in Pic #8. I never remember to get a good shot of my own truck anywhere...

The "Vintage NOS Club" was an in-joke among his friends, apparently. We discussed how having a stick shift was theft-prevention enough usually. I did tell him that at least in your neck of the woods I had heard of people dragging them off on a flatbed... or just tow straps!
There were a number of very nice cars there (and some interesting non-VWs) but the barndoor was the treat for me. I swear I saw one gussied up at Barrett-Jackson in early 2000s (this owner doubted that), but otherwise this is the only one I've seen in person - and it DROVE to the event. |
