Hello!
I’ve been running my full flow system for a few years, but I would like to make some changes. The way I have it now the filter hangs too low so of course it hits the ground on occasion. I’ve already broken the mount. Does anyone have pic.’s or ideas on where they’ve mounted theirs?
Thanks! |

Get longer lines and move it higher.
You don't have to use the mounts that mount to the bumper bracket. |

You can also use a shorter filter. Looks like the filter you have is a full-quart size filter, PH-8 or equivalent. You can use a PH-16 or equivalent, same diameter but only half as tall.
Mine is mounted a little higher with the shorter filter. Fits up under the skirt so it's completely out of the way.

I forgot to mention it’s a late model ghia without extra room above the bumper bracket. However, I like what 22manybugs has done with the shorter filter.
I’ll probably weld a piece to my bumper bracket mount to raise it up and use the shorter filter. Also, I’m using a sandwich adapter to the cooler, so I could reconfigure things and get rid of it. Thanks for the help and pictures! |

Here's my mount. Might not be possible on the later model, but it tucks it nicely away on my 64. I also put an extra piece of steel between the beam and filter holder to avoid it flexing when handling the filter.

You can also rotate the filter 90 degrees pointing ti to the rear instead of down
I used a Berg Ghia bumper bracket on my 70, filter is higher than collector never drags

I've got the same CSP filter mount. I fabbed up two aluminum circles, placing one on the engine room floor just forward of the battery, and one directly under the engine room floor to strengthen the engine room floor. Through-bolts go through the top aluminum circle, then the engine room floor, then the bottom circle, and finally into the filter mount. The filter is horizontal and points forward, tucked up nicely just outside the engine seal. This keeps it well away from things getting flung up by the tire treads.
The only spinny part near the filter is the CV joint but those don't hold road debris long enough or well enough to spin them up and fling into the filter. Delco PF52 filter is small and so far has not attracted any road hazards.
The only problem I can foresee is possible interference with the muffler hanger once the full exhaust system goes in. |

If this is a full flow set up I don't see the oil filter.
Truly confused.

It's an Oberg style filter. |

Looked Oberg up in the classifieds. I never heard of it.
Interesting and not inexpensive it seems.
Filter looks like the same one I use on my french press. |

I like the idea of an Oberg, particularly when running an engine in, as it saves having to cut open the screw on filter to see what the screen has collected.
No-one in the UK seems to sell them anymore, not sure if they are still produced. I will therefore soon be getting my hacksaw out .... |

As others have already said use a shorter filter. I have my filter in roughly the same spot. No issues.
IF you are using the common 3/4-16 filter adapter mount here are a few available filters. Don't be concerned about the smaller size, it's the same size filter used on a V10 Viper.

I have an OG Oberg filter on the Swap Meet Ghia, they are not really expensive when you consider it lasts forever. Just clean the screen and re-install.
