Ive only ever towed a complete car. I need to tow my 65 notch body shell (fresh from metal repair ) back home.
i have a flatbed trailer with tie downs. Where should I attach the straps to the car? (dolly not included)
My initial plan is to use some 4x4s under the channels , and strap across the door openings. But where are some other good spots to keep it all secure to the trailer?

The body is extremely light, so it doesn't need much to hold it.
I would certainly run across the front and back of the door openings at the heater channels.
However I would do this "diagonally" sort of. That is attach to the trailer near the front wheel wells, then to the base of the A pillar and then to the opposite front wheel well. Do the same for the rear wheel wells to the B pillar.
This will stop the shell from moving forwards and backwards (when correctly tightened) and still hold the shell down flat to the trailer. |
