Any recommendations on the best on-line site to order OEM Subaru EJ25 parts? Mostly looking for small things like a new cam cradle bolt that I stripped and other small things.

Thanks.

https://www.subaruonlineparts.com/ wasn't much help or I am not using the site correctly. Or I am used to vehicles that are better supported, which I can't imagine Subaru isn't supported.

What you want are OE parts —- Original Equipment (Subaru labeled)

OEM —- Original Equipment Manufacturer. —- supplies through various manufacturer which could have different Quality levels.

The terms are often confused as being the same but the differences are many.

This OE \ OEM thing is peeve of mine, it’s like asking for a Coke and getting a generic Cola from the same plant but a different formula. Close but not the same!

I now walk off my Soap Box

P.S. I have ordered from Subaru Online with a OE part number and have had good luck!

Dr. Pepper is not a cola..... it's like getting a Pepsi or generic cola.

"Dr Pepper's taste is famously hard to pin down, but it's often described as a unique combination of cherry, vanilla, and spice with cola-like notes. It's known for its distinct, complex flavor profile rather than a single identifiable taste. People frequently detect notes of licorice, almond, and apricot among its 23 secret ingredients, creating a sweet, fizzy, and slightly mysterious beverage that stands apart from other sodas. "

I agree. It’s just Pepsi is a different brand and I was trying to stay with the same company. Maybe I would do better saying that OEM cola would be what they sell to the off brand company as generic but still bottled for Coke.

The terminology is so far lost I don’t think I’ll ever Win the fight.

The local dealership?
I was pleasantly surprised by the prices at mine. No shipping charges which make small items cheaper than mail order.
After installing a top brand aftermarket, but ill-fitting air filter in the Subaru, I wished I got that at the dealership also.

I do agree with Stacy though. On a largely mechanical forum the difference between OE and OEM is often significant.
I’m not a cola drinker but I could argue about beer terminology…

Spark plugs for my 2018 Impreza are $52 from the dealer, they are NGK and in a Subaru box. I can get the same plugs from a online Subaru dealer for $30. I can get them from the FLAPS in a NGK box for $20.

Certainly some things are more at the dealer than online ordering, even with the shipping cost.

But it's always worth checking. I had good luck.

https://parts.subaru.com/ works, but does not exactly provide the best prices

And the FLAPS will stand a 37% chance of being Chinese knock offs someone returned in exchange for OE
