I bought a 66 bug in SC. I went on line and checked out a few transport companies. One had a rate I could afford, so I pulled the trigger and bought the car. But now the transporter can't find a driver. I guess he has till Tuesday and I hope I get refunded. I think the zip is 92801 Aiken, SC and mine is 62521 Decatur, IL. It runs rough so can't drive onto the transport - but I was told that was not a problem, that all of the drisers have winches.
Have any of you had good luck with anyone? This is quite disheartening. People just don't do what they say they can do or will do anymore. |

The topic above could help but I thought I would point out it's a lot tougher when it can't just drive on/off a transport so make sure you are very clear about this fact.

Off the shipping subject but:
I haven't noticed an increase over the years - people have always been flaky/lazy/etc |

| Try uship.com ignore the first offers they’re going to be outrageous to get desperate or uninformed people to over pay. I and several people I know have had excellent results. |

| If you aren’t paying $1000 for that ship you are dealing with a flake. There is no end to the costs you can incur low bidding a ship job |

I used 4 corners based on recommendations and past experiences of others here to ship my 68 westy from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania. They were incredibly quick and up front in what they needed to arrange transport. I had the bus in two or three days time from the moment I called them.
It cost about 1100 all said and done I think. Pretty reasonable honestly. |

This.
$1.25 to $1.50 a mile is a good rule of thumb for a quality hauler. |

Well good news. My original contact has come through, Four Corners.
Its supposed to be picked up today and delivered to me on Monday.
It was $1.15 a mile.
So on Monday I will be a genuine memeber of the "club" - LOL. |
