Hi All,

I'm looking for an affordable disk brake kit for my split. After doing the research here I decided to go with the Saco kit. Unfortunately their site is not working properly and the number seems to be disconnected. OOB I assume.

Does anyone have experience with another budget kit? My brakes are terrible!

Another vote on Type-E, I have them on all 4's. Buy once cry once they say!
I had front disc Saco on my previous bus some years ago (2014) And they were returned due to several issues that were missed lack of quality control. I can't recall what the issue was with Saco but remember them being pretty poor quality and could not even finish the install, machining issues if I remember correctly, not something you want in brakes.

Not sure you mentioned what year your bus is. I think that also limits your options. (I did my research about 5 years ago)

I have kits on both my 59 and 65. Both great upgrades. I personally wanted wide-5 rims and I did not want to change my wheel offset. If you care about these then i found the options where limited.

If you do not care about these then there were more options that did not tie you into vendor specific wear parts.

I am using EMPI for the 59 and So Cal Imports for the 65. Both "affordable" and easy to install.

Ask somebody who has a saco disk brake kit where are they going to get a rotor or caliper now? :lol:

Type e kits you can get replacement parts from napa, amazon, rockauto, autozone, oreillys, etc. Gm made millions of those rotors, calipers

Yeah, Saco is gone.
I still run their front Disc's and they are great. Still have extra pads in a box.
Good stoppers, but you can't get them.
They actually made them, and the calipers. Pretty trick looking stuff.

If I ever need new one's (DOUBT IT) I'll have to go another direction
I do have the China versions in the rear though/IRS.
SACO was High Performance sand stuff, and the Bus stuff was built just like the racing brakes.
I just don't drive the Bus enough to wear them out.
I don't think all that GM stuff is made here, but the SACO was all American Made, and Zero issues fitting them like some brakes I've done. SACO have bleeders at all 4 pots
