| My '93 has a hard start when the engine is cold. Once it runs and warms up it is easy to start, even if it has sat for an hour or two. I think the cold start valve (CSV) is good (provides a good spray when pressurized outside of the car). I've read that the CSV gets its ground through the thermo time switch (TTS), so I would like to measure the continuity of the TTS. Where is the TTS located? |

Easier than that is to just put a test light on the cold start injector, and have someone crank the vehicle. If the TTS works, there should be power applied to the CS injector during cranking. |

Yes, that makes sense. I'll try it tonight. Thanks for pointing that out. |

| I pulled the CSV and tried to start the engine. No spray from the CSV. Previously I tried it fully disconnected from the wiring harness, supplying my own power. This tells me the CSV is not grounded while starting. Any suggestions for where to the CSV gets ground? |

It isn't clear from your last post if your CSV is receiving power in the first place. Did you see if its getting power with a multimeter or a test light as TheOneTrueQuux previously suggested?
FWIW, soon after I picked up my 1993 Weekender, I happened to notice one of the wires going to the CSV had chafed on something exposing the strands of copper wire. It was still intact, but would eventually sever if I did not do something to address this issue.

| Putting a test light on the harness, I get a light. So, it doesn't seem to be a grounding problem. It seems to start a little easier, but still not on first or second try. (When the harness was disconnected, it did start) |

You need to connect both sides of the test light to the connector, so that you're sensing whether you've got power and ground.
It's evident you've got power, and I think on these the ground is applied through the thermo-time switch, so I would re-do the test with both sides of the test lamp plugged into the connector. If that reveals no light, then look at the TTS, the wiring to it, and where the TTS gets it's ground. If you find the the TTS has ground, and you still get now power to the injector, then it's a bad TTS. |
