Needed to listen to songs from iPhone but I didn't want to go the expensive route with a head unit, so I made this mount that fits into the cupholder I installed earlier. I found that I really didn't need to use the cupholder for cups all that much, as I'm driving to meet-ups where coffee is available and I buy it and drink it there.

The key was sanding in the right taper and getting diameter right so the round base plug would be a nice press fit into the holder ring. It's got a pedestal post that extends down to the tunnel carpet to give a little more stability. Needed to angle the platform upward quite a bit, so I could hear the vocals, high notes, etc. a bit better.

Love the speaker...looks like a mini Marshall amp, and fits with the Ghia's interior look. At first I thought I'd use double sided tape to attach it to platform, but NOTHING sticks to the silicone case! Fortunately, the grilles are pretty beefy and well attached, so I came up with safety wire solution. They are more of a tether to hold the speaker in place laterally.

Brilliant. Looks perfect down there.
